David duChemin and Gavin Gough, a couple of my all-time favorite photographers, create a download-able monthly wallpaper using one of their travel photographs. What’s also handy, is that they overlay that month’s calendar right on the image, so when you set it as your desktop background, you’ve got the current month’s calendar right there.
If you’d like to download it and set it as your desktop background/wallpaper, follow these simple instructions:
- Pick the link above that most closely matches your monitor/display size. Picking the correct size will ensure that the image is not stretched or distorted when you set it as your background.
- If you see a magnifying glass with a “+” left click it to make the image full size. Once you see the full image on your screen, right-click (PC users) and “Save File As.”
- After you’ve saved it, go to the folder that it was downloaded in and select it.
- From here, the instructions really depend on your operating system and application defaults, but without getting too detailed, you’re looking for something like: “Set As Desktop Background” or “Use as Wallpaper.”
